Baart’s high-rise apartment complex unexpectedly became a home to the largest owl species on Earth, the Eurasian eagle owl. Among them, a mother owl and her three offspring displayed a keen curiosity about their surroundings.
What began as an annoyance for Baart soon transformed into an unexpected friendship. The owls, seemingly unreserved in their interactions, even positioned themselves in a row to gaze at the television alongside Baart.
Despite their mother’s occasional watchful eye from behind a bush, showing a hint of suspicion towards Baart and her owlets’ television habits, the baby owls’ curiosity remained undeterred.
With an impressive wingspan exceeding 1.5 meters, these majestic Bubo owls have earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest owl species.
Interestingly, these owls, primarily known as Bubo owls, are not exclusive carnivores. They possess a natural lifespan of about 20 years in the wild but can thrive in captivity for up to 60 years.
Typically, they choose to nest in cliffs and on ledges, yet they are also known to repurpose abandoned golden eagle nests. The experience of having these colossal owls as neighbors must indeed be unforgettable.
