The couple, celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary, stumbled upon the playful cubs just before 6 a.m. The young lions were sprawled across the road, lounging and wrestling, while cars began to queue behind them.
Aitor, who owns a real estate business, described the experience as mesmerizing. “There was so much activity, it was hard to decide what to focus on,” he said.

Being the first car on the scene, the Campbell-Harrises enjoyed an uninterrupted view of the cubs waking up and playing.
As time passed, more vehicles arrived, leading to a growing traffic backup. Cars from both directions added to the congestion, but the atmosphere remained cheerful as visitors marveled at the lions’ antics.

The cubs seemed unbothered by the gathering crowd, playfully interacting with their mother and even approaching some vehicles.
The couple had entered the park early with hopes of spotting big cats and felt fortunate to witness such a charming display. “Being so close to wild animals is an indescribable privilege—it’s incredibly uplifting,” Aitor shared.
Eventually, the lionesses guided their cubs off the road and into the tall grass, signaling the end of the spectacle.

For the Campbell-Harrises and other visitors, the encounter left a lasting impression, reminding them of the beauty and wonder of the natural world.
