When Zia was brought to a foster home, she immediately began preparing for her puppies’ arrival by nesting—arranging blankets to create the perfect birthing space. After giving birth, she visibly relaxed, feeling secure in her new environment.
Over the next few weeks, Zia’s puppies—Zorro, Zoie, Zaina, and Zeus—thrived. Each developed distinct personalities: Zorro, the energetic and vocal one; Zoie, the sweet and shy runt who needed extra care from her mom; Zaina, the adventurous explorer; and Zeus, the mischievous big brother.
The foster family ensured the puppies had plenty of love and new experiences, including their first outdoor playtime in the grass.
When the puppies were ready, they were taken to Fresno Bully Rescue for adoption. Thanks to the care they received since birth, they quickly found loving homes.
One adopter, mourning the loss of his dog Cash, found comfort in a puppy whose eyes reminded him of his beloved pet. Another family, newly settled in a home, felt one of Zia’s puppies was the perfect addition to complete their family.
With all her puppies adopted, it was finally Zia’s turn to find a forever home. A couple from Fresno, who had lost their Pit Bull Evelyn, saw Zia’s story on Instagram and felt an immediate connection.
They knew Zia would bring love and joy back into their lives. When they met her, it was clear that Zia felt the same way—she quickly bonded with her new family, ready to begin her next chapter.
Now, Zia and her puppies are happily settled into their new homes, surrounded by love and care. Their journey from uncertainty to happiness highlights the critical role fostering and adoption play in giving animals a second chance.
