In a heartwarming saga from Russia, a pilot’s compassion for an abandoned bear cub has blossomed into an extraordinary bond, capturing the world’s attention.
They were discovered near the Orlovka air base in Russia’s Tver region. Mansur, as the cub was named, faced a bleak future after hunters likely took his mother’s life. Pilot Andrey Ivanov and his team stepped in, providing Mansur shelter and care.

Initially intended for release into the wild, Mansur’s tameness made a return impossible. Instead, he found a new home in the Seliger Nature Reserve, thanks to Ivanov’s efforts.
Tragedy struck again when Mansur was wrongly relocated to a bear-baiting station, prompting Ivanov and his colleagues to mount a daring rescue. Mansur’s joyous reunion and subsequent life at the air base showcased the resilience of their bond.

With community support, Ivanov raised funds to build Mansur, a haven with two dens, a forest area, and a swimming pool.
Today, Mansur thrives under Ivanov’s care, charming viewers worldwide through live streams that fund his upkeep.
Despite weighing over 500 pounds, Mansur remains gentle with Ivanov, a testament to their enduring friendship.
