Scarlett Johansson, known for her alluring roles in films like “Lost in Translation,” reveals her desire for a more meaningful career in an interview with The Wall Street Journal’s April issue. The 29-year-old actress expressed her frustration with being typecast as a glamorous figure.
“I want to stop being the smart aleck,” Johansson said. “Being glamorous is nice, but I don’t want always to be someone else’s object of desire. It’s transient.”
Instead, she aims for a varied career that allows her to balance her work in films with her personal life.
During the interview, the pregnant star discussed her evolving career, her relationship with fiancé Romain Dauriac, and her hopes for starting a family. Johansson shared her aspiration to balance her professional and personal life.
“There has to be a world where I can manage both, take care of my family and produce a film every year, or work independently, create things, and perform in theater. I wish I could have everything. Inconsiderately,” she told WSJ.
Johansson also mentioned the stress of being unable to spend time with family due to the demands of her career.
“It seems so stressful not to be able to spend time with your family because you’re always chasing the tail of your success,” she said.
The actress, born and raised in New York, now primarily lives in Paris with Dauriac, whom she met in 2012.
