Scarlett Johansson has openly admitted that she avoids social media because she feels her ego is “too fragile” for it.
In an interview on Dear Media’s “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast,” the “Black Widow” star candidly shared her reluctance to engage with platforms like Instagram, stating, “I can’t. My ego is too fragile. I can’t deal with it. My brain is too fragile. I’m like a delicate flower.”

The actress recounted a brief stint on Instagram, lasting only three days, during which she found herself immersed in other people’s lives, feeling like she was missing out.
Even though she occasionally contributes to her skincare company’s social media presence, Johansson firmly believes she can’t handle having the apps on her device.

Despite her business-related involvement, Johansson confessed that using social media makes her feel like a child engrossed in their mother’s phone, indicating a sense of detachment from the experience.
She acknowledged occasionally appearing on her company’s TikTok account for professional purposes but avoided using the platform for personal use.
Johansson’s decision to stay off social media aligns with her past statements about not feeling the need to brand herself that way.

While recognizing the platforms’ potential for sharing information and raising awareness, she remains resolute in her preference for privacy and detachment from continuously sharing details of her everyday life.
