Scarlett Johansson and Laura Dern, both renowned Hollywood actresses, graced the red carpet for the screening of Marriage Story at the 57th New York Film Festival held at Lincoln Center.
Known for their roles in major film franchises, Johansson and Dern celebrated this more intimate project alongside the cast and crew.
Johansson, 34, who gained widespread recognition as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wore a striking black strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline.
The dress featured intricate rhinestone detailing on the corset, a high-waisted belt, and a fringe hem. She completed her look with sheer Mary Jane sandals, ‘Oui’ earrings by Nikos Koulis, and an elegant top knot showcasing her back’s tattoos.
In Marriage Story, set for a theatrical release and Netflix streaming later this year, Johansson portrays a woman navigating a complicated divorce while maintaining family ties.
Laura Dern, presumed to be her character’s lawyer, attended the event in a shimmering forest-green ensemble. At the same time, Adam Driver, 35, who plays Johansson’s on-screen husband, appeared in a sharp blue suit and red tie.
Driver, famous for his role in the Star Wars series, posed with Johansson and the film’s director, Noah Baumbach.
Baumbach, the Oscar-nominated director behind The Squid and the Whale, was joined by his partner, acclaimed filmmaker Greta Gerwig, who opted for a chic black dress with red accents.
Other notable attendees included cast members Julie Hagerty, Wallace Shawn, Ray Liotta, who arrived with his daughter Karsen, and Academy Award nominee Alan Alda.
The star-studded evening highlighted Marriage Story, described on Netflix as a portrayal of “a marriage breaking up and a family staying together.”
