A compassionate animal rescuer, HV-Dessy, has become a beacon of hope for many abandoned and distressed cats and kittens.
Her latest story involves a heartwarming encounter with a senior cat named Aslan, whom she found in dire condition, a testament to her dedication.
While going about her daily errands, Dessy stumbled upon Aslan, an aging feral cat clearly struggling to survive. His frail appearance and desperate meows immediately tugged at Dessy’s heartstrings, prompting her to step in and help.
Approaching Aslan proved a challenge due to his wild nature, but Dessy’s patience paid off. She visited him regularly, offering food until he trusted her enough to be taken to the veterinarian.
There, Aslan received much-needed medical attention, including antibiotics and eye drops, paving the way for his journey to recovery.
Dessy and her husband, who have long been fostering cats, found their home filled with many needing care. Thanks to generous donations, they rented a dedicated space aptly named the “Happy Cats Room.”
As Dessy shared in a video, “Thanks to our donators, we have rented a room for the old cat, and others in need. We call it the ‘Happy Cats Room.’ The place is still a work in progress. We plan to make it very cat friendly.”
Aslan was the first to benefit from this sanctuary, though his feral roots meant acclimating was slow. Dessy recalled the difficulty of bathing him, using protective gloves as a precaution.
Once clean, Aslan settled into the comfort of his new environment, where he would spend hours resting in a snug cat bed.
Despite his initial fear of humans, Dessy found clever ways to administer his medication, cleverly hiding antibiotics in his meals. However, getting Aslan to accept eye drops required extra patience and care.
Weeks later, Dessy’s persistence bore fruit. In a video update, Aslan was seen cozy in his favorite spot. Although still wary of humans, he allowed the occasional gentle snuggle, evidence of his growing trust.
A turning point came when a kind-hearted woman reached out to Dessy with an offer to adopt Aslan, ensuring he could live the rest of his life in a loving home.
Thanks to Dessy’s unwavering compassion and effort, Aslan can now enjoy a safe and nurturing environment, free from the struggles of street life.
