Luna, a young and nervous pup, found solace in her teddy bear during a challenging time in her life.
The stuffed animal was her sole companionship when she arrived at San Antonio Animal Care Services, having just been surrendered and lost the comfort of her previous home.
Lisa Norwood, the public relations manager at San Antonio Animal Care Services, explained to The Dodo the significance of the teddy bear for Luna: “Familiarity is comforting for everyone in times of stress, and this is no doubt the reason why Luna is so attached to her bear.
The bear came from home, smells like home and was a reminder of what she used to have.”
Luna, with her charming personality, quickly won the hearts of those at the shelter. The staff showed much patience and care, especially when Luna felt overwhelmed by her new environment.
Though she was lively and full of energy, the adjustment was sometimes stressful for her.
Eventually, Luna and her beloved teddy bear moved to Vermont English Bulldog Rescue, where her quest for a forever home continues. Norwood remains hopeful that Luna will find a family that appreciates her playful nature.
“Luna needs a home with a patient, loving and active family,” Norwood said. “She needs a lifelong home.” Luna’s journey to find a new family is supported by many who wish to see her happy and settled.
