In São José dos Campos, Brazil, Esdras Andrade, who dedicates himself to rescuing and protecting animals, found himself racing against time after receiving a distressing video. The footage showed a helpless family of dogs stranded on a busy road, abandoned and in dire need of help.
Instead of continuing with his daily routine, Esdras immediately decided to intervene. He quickly grabbed his keys, set aside any other plans, and headed straight to the location of the animals. Upon arrival, he saw a brave mother dog standing in the middle of traffic, trying desperately to attract attention and find help. Despite her evident fear, she courageously faced the oncoming cars, hoping that someone would choose to aid her. Yet, to her dismay, her silent cries went unheeded as drivers continued on their way.
Esdras noticed her puppies lying in the grass nearby and approached them cautiously. Sensing his presence, the protective mother ran to intercept him, unsure of his intentions and determined to defend her young ones. It became evident to Esdras that gaining her trust was crucial, as the puppies were clearly in need of urgent medical care.
Suspecting that both the mother and her little ones required veterinary attention, Esdras committed several exhausting hours to ensuring their safety and wellbeing. He quickly transported the dogs to a vet, ensuring no time was lost, given the critical condition of the puppies.
Upon examination, it was revealed that the entire dog family was severely infested with fleas, with one puppy suffering more than the others and needing special care. Despite the challenges, all the dogs received the necessary treatments.
Now, Esdras provides a temporary haven for the mother and her six puppies, ensuring they are safe and cared for in a foster home. This will be their base until they are ready for adoption and can begin their new lives, happy and healthy.
