A frightened Yorkshire terrier puppy found herself stranded in a dark tunnel after being startled by a passing car.
Peggy Edwards shared the heartwarming story on Facebook, detailing how Officer Joe Brazil from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, came to the rescue.
When the puppy, later named Cece, fled into the tunnel, Peggy immediately contacted the Woonsocket Police Department for help. Officer Brazil arrived promptly and didn’t hesitate to assist.
Before venturing into the tunnel, Officer Brazil removed his shoes and socks to ensure a safer rescue. Careful not to frighten Cece further, he patiently coaxed her closer and gently lifted her to safety.
Cece’s owner, Michelle Perez, was overjoyed to be reunited with her beloved pet, who had escaped from home the previous day.
Thanks to the quick actions of Peggy Edwards and Officer Brazil, Cece was saved from the darkness and returned to her loving home.
