In a heartwarming tale from Stillwater Animal Welfare (SAW), two dogs captured the hearts of rescuers as they roamed the bustling streets of Oklahoma City last month.
SAW workers, accustomed to saving multiple dogs at once, noticed a unique bond between the pair. Identified as Bonnie and Clyde, these canine companions refused to leave each other’s side, even in the safety of the shelter.

Ashlie Jerkes, an animal care worker at SAW, recounted how Bonnie and Clyde, despite facing health challenges like heartworm, stuck together through thick and thin during their stay at the shelter.
Their bond was palpable as they eagerly awaited adoption together. However, fate turns bittersweet when Clyde finds a forever home, leaving Bonnie behind.

Heartbroken and alone, Bonnie struggled to find hope until a compassionate shelter worker shared her story on social media.
The poignant image of Bonnie lying forlornly in her cot touched the hearts of many, prompting swift action.
Within days of the post, Bonnie’s luck changed as a kind-hearted individual offered her a loving home.

Bonnie’s new owner, Brayden Routh, expressed joy and excitement at welcoming her into their family. Now, with a furry sibling, Bonnie is already settling into her new life, brimming with adventures.
While Bonnie will always cherish memories of her beloved companion Clyde, she eagerly embraces the joyous journey ahead with her new family.
