While preparing to launch her kayak, the woman noticed four unusual mud balls on the shore. Upon closer inspection, she realized these were not mud balls but four hairless, emaciated puppies struggling to survive. Deeply moved, she immediately halted her plans and rushed to help the defenseless animals.

A Life-Saving Rescue

The puppies, though shy, quickly accepted her help. This allowed her to transport them to Final Victory Animal Rescue in South Carolina. The condition of the puppies took aback shelter staff.

Leslie Rider Osmanski from the shelter told The Dodo, “All four puppies were emaciated and covered in demodex mange. Their demodex mange was so severe that they were almost completely hairless.”

A New Lease on Life

Dubbed “the waters edge puppies,” the shelter staff immediately began caring for them. After medical baths and some tender loving care, the puppies started to relax and show signs of recovery. Despite their severe mange, the puppies were free from significant health issues requiring surgery.

A Bright Future Ahead

Optimistic about their recovery, the staff gave the puppies fitting names: Kayak, Canoe, Paddle Board, and Raft. Although their origins remained a mystery, it was suspected they were abandoned.
