Last summer, Marcy, a cat, was left behind when her family vacated their home. Forced to survive alone, she found refuge in a neighbor’s yard, settling into a makeshift shelter made from an old cardboard box.
She lived this way for several months until December when a kind-hearted person decided to help.
Rebecca McGinn discovered Marcy while visiting her brother’s house for her niece’s birthday. Her brother mentioned the stray cat living in the backyard, prompting McGinn to check on her.

From the moment she laid eyes on Marcy, McGinn felt a strong connection and knew she had to take action.
Marcy’s condition was dire. As McGinn recounted to The Dodo, “I decided to adopt her as she was inside a soggy cardboard box, shivering and had sore eyes.”
Despite her poor state, Marcy proved to be sweet and affectionate, readily approaching McGinn for attention.

Upon adopting Marcy, a veterinarian revealed that she suffered from several health issues, including eye problems, worms, pneumonia, a lung infection, and skin conditions causing her fur to fall out.
Though the path to recovery would be challenging, McGinn eagerly welcomed Marcy into her home, offering the comfort and love she desperately needed.
Marcy adjusted swiftly, spending her initial days in her new environment nestled and resting extensively. She quickly showed her appreciation for cozy spaces, becoming fond of all things soft and comfortable.

McGinn noted, “She settled in immediately and curled up and slept for days.”
Nowadays, Marcy cherishes her cozy new life. According to McGinn, “The thing she loves most is being with me and my partner, cuddled up.
She is 100 percent obsessed with blankets and people. She loves being tucked in and covered up. She is on or in a soft blanket 99 percent of the time!”

Whether she snuggles on pillows, burrows under blankets, or curls up with her new human companions, Marcy has mastered the art of comfort.
Her once-turbulent life is now filled with warmth and love, and she shows unwavering trust and affection despite her history.

Marcy has found her perfect forever home, where she can thrive in happiness and security for her remaining years.
McGinn shares, “She has the sweetest, most loving personality. She is super clingy and loves all the attention. She is so warm and trusting with everyone.”
