No animal should face the heartbreak of being deserted by those they rely on. Unfortunately, many dogs experience this when they are abandoned, left wondering why their world has changed.
This was the reality for Lucy, a loving and faithful dog.
When her owners relocated, they left Lucy behind on a porch, exposed to the cold. She sat with a look of yearning in her eyes, watching the road and hoping for someone kind to offer her the affection she desperately needed.
Audray, who heads Luck’s Rescue in Georgia, received a call about Lucy’s plight. The neighbors had ensured she had some food and water, but despite their efforts, Lucy was visibly distressed.
Upon reaching the location, Audray found a sweet dog in emotional turmoil. Named Lucy, the dog’s eyes sparkled with hope as Audray came close.

As she got a better look, Audray noticed Lucy’s poor condition. Her fur was tangled and infested with ticks and fleas, and her collar was dreadfully tight.
Despite these issues, all Lucy wanted was affection. She rolled over, inviting belly rubs and enjoying the comfort she had been missing.
Audray told Lucy she was safe now, her gentle touch was reassuring.
Without hesitation, Lucy hopped into Audray’s car, leaving the lonely porch behind. At the vet, she received much-needed medical attention and a grooming session that transformed her matted fur.
Now a beautiful dog, Lucy felt rejuvenated—both physically and emotionally. Surrounded by caring people, she began to thrive.
Soon, Lucy was placed in a foster home where she received the love she longed for. Her foster mom adored her, and her new siblings introduced her to the joys of living indoors.
Supported by this caring environment, Lucy regained her confidence and rediscovered a sense of security.
Her story was shared on Luck’s Rescue’s social media, and it touched many hearts, leading to adoption inquiries from people moved by her resilience.
Shortly thereafter, Audray had joyful news to share: Lucy had found a permanent home.
Her new family showered her with affection, and her joyous expression showed she had finally found where she belonged. Her eyes sparkled with happiness, signaling a future filled with love and security.
