A charming incident involving a baby elephant attempting to follow its mother through a thorn bush was captured on video at South Africa’s Sambi Sand Game Reserve.
The footage, shared on the Safari Live YouTube channel, has delighted viewers with the young elephant’s endearing struggle.
In the video, the baby elephant confidently trails its mother into the thicket, only to realize that it’s not as easy for a smaller animal to pass through the prickly vegetation.
The cameraman can’t help but chuckle as the calf lifts its front leg high, hesitating to set it down amid the thorns.
Despite the challenging situation, the young elephant cautiously proceeds through the majority of the bush.
It’s only when it spots the amused tourist filming that the calf appears somewhat sheepish, quickly finishing its thorny journey with an audience watching.
The onlookers can’t help but remark on the calf’s seemingly embarrassed demeanor. Once it clears the thorny obstacle, the delighted baby elephant hurries to reunite with its mother, much to the amusement of all who witnessed the heartwarming scene.
