In Arcadia, California, the Liang family had a heartwarming and amusing encounter with a bear cub and its mother on their porch.
This wasn’t their first visit; the bears had explored the family’s backyard pool in April and made another appearance in June.

By September, the cub had grown but retained its playful nature, as demonstrated by a hilarious wrestling match with a flamingo pool float.

As the bear cub approached, the Liangs watched in awe from behind their glass patio doors. When the mama bear appeared, someone jokingly exclaimed, “There’s a photo bomber!” The mother bear seemed ready to leave, but her cub had other ideas.
Spotting the flamingo pool float on the patio, the cub couldn’t resist engaging with it. “No, no, no, no, no! That’s our flamingo!” someone shouted as the cub put the float in a headlock and began to chew on it.

Kylie Liang, age 6, recalled her reaction: “When the bear was wrestling it, I tried to say, ‘Bang on the window to get those bears away!’ But then my dad said, ‘Ah, no.
I think it’s too late.'” Her older brother, 8-year-old Riley, added, “Well, I’ve never seen a baby bear wrestle a flamingo. I was kind of surprised to see it do that.”
Despite the rough treatment, the inflatable flamingo proved surprisingly durable, surviving the encounter without popping. Eventually, the mama bear intervened, standing on her hind legs to get her cub’s attention.
Eric Liang, who recorded the delightful scene, likened the moment to a parent coaxing a child to leave a toy store: “Just saying, ‘C’mon, let’s go.’ It was just the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen.”
