When he encountered a train crossing barrier, an adventurous elephant in India’s West Bengal state seemed to decide that waiting wasn’t on his agenda.
The elephant was walking near Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary when he approached a railway track blocked by a barrier.

Instead of waiting for it to lift, and with a fence preventing him from going around, he used his trunk to lift the barrier and slipped underneath gently.
Eyewitnesses were amazed at the elephant’s clever maneuver. “The elephant carefully lifted the barrier with his trunk,” Roni Chowdhury shared. “Then, after crossing, he even put the barrier back in place with great care.”
After his brief encounter with the tracks, the elephant wandered back into the forest, leaving onlookers in awe of his quick thinking and polite departure.
