In Avon, Connecticut, an older woman got an unexpected visitor while baking brownies: a curious bear.
The large bear attempted to enter the woman’s home through the back door, prompting her to call her neighbor for assistance.
Understandably frightened, she contacted Bob Belfiore, who recounted the incident: “He left the kitchen area and went to the second set of doors off the deck. And tried those and then went to the third set of doors into the living room and attempted to get into those.”
Realizing the bear was persistent and unafraid of noise, Belfiore contacted the police. He described the situation to them, saying, “We have a bear attempting to get into a house, and he’s not afraid of noise, screaming, or yelling or pounding.”
The bear, who wildlife officials had tagged, has no prior history of troublesome behavior, according to the police report.
