In a dramatic scene in southwestern Alaska, two grizzly bears were captured in intense combat over a fish.
The fight, documented by photographer Kevin Dooley, unfolded between an experienced 16-year-old female bear and a younger five-year-old male.

The clash began when the younger bear caught a fish, only for the older female, attending to her two cubs, to seize the catch from him. This provoked a fierce response from the male bear, leading to a violent struggle.
Kevin Dooley, a 59-year-old safari guide from Albuquerque, New Mexico, witnessed and photographed the event.

He explained, “The female is the senior bear in the area. The younger male moved into the fishing area and caught his fish while the mother was busy with her cubs. The mother bear saw all the action of the younger bear catching a fish in her area, attacked him, and took the fish – she ended up with it.”
This encounter highlights wildlife’s raw and competitive nature as these powerful creatures fought tooth and claw for sustenance.
