Cahaya, a small stray puppy in dire need of help, had been left by the roadside, frail and nearly bald. However, just when things seemed hopeless, his luck took a turn for the better.
Kristy, a compassionate passerby, spotted Cahaya in his pitiful state. At first glance, she wasn’t even sure he was a dog due to his severe condition. Nonetheless, determined to help, she brought him to a veterinarian. The vet diagnosed Cahaya with mange and tapeworm, explaining his weakened state and missing fur.
Taking Cahaya under her wing, Kristy decided to foster him, providing the care and love he desperately needed. As she cradled him, Cahaya looked up at her with immense gratitude. “I’m just holding him, and he is just looking up at me. He was just the sweetest little thing,” Kristy shared with The Dodo.
In the beginning, Cahaya spent most of his time resting, his body needing time to heal. Gradually, he regained strength, often staying close to Kristy and expressing his affection with endless kisses. Within weeks, he showed remarkable improvement. He became more active, started playing, and even managed to climb stairs. His appearance also changed dramatically—he gained weight, his skin healed, and his fur grew back lush and thick.
Kristy was amazed by Cahaya’s transformation. “I can’t believe how fluffy and furry he is now. When I found him, he looked like a rat,” she marveled. The once dejected puppy was now a lively and joyful dog, filling Kristy’s days with love and energy.
Despite the strong bond they shared, Kristy knew she couldn’t adopt Cahaya permanently. Hoping to find him a loving family, she posted his story on Instagram. Her efforts paid off when a family fell in love with Cahaya’s photos and decided to meet him. It was love at first sight, and Cahaya joyfully bounded into his new mom’s arms, ready to begin a new life with his forever family.
Now, surrounded by affection and care in his new home, Cahaya continues to thrive, bringing joy to everyone around him.
