When Echo, a beloved pet, went missing in the Arizona desert, his owner was overcome with worry. Each day without any news deepened his fears, especially with the knowledge of coyotes lurking in the area.

While his owner searched, Echo wandered through the harsh desert, disoriented and yearning to find his way back home. Despite the challenging terrain, he continued to push forward, hoping for a familiar sign to guide him.
In a fortunate turn of events, a group of RV enthusiasts, Vanessa Keating, Theresa Burge, and Aubrey Metropulos, spotted Echo near their campsite in Bulldog Canyon, Arizona.
Concerned about the potential threat from coyotes, the women took it upon themselves to ensure the little dog’s safety, hoping to reunite him with his family.
Initially, Echo was hesitant and growled at the rescuers, unsure of their intentions. However, the women’s calm and kind approach soon won him over.
Vanessa later shared with The Dodo, “He growled at us at first and took some convincing to come over. It only took a few minutes for him to come up to my sister, Theresa, first, but he was still nervous.”
The group noticed that Echo was in distress due to a cholla cactus stuck to his side. They carefully removed the painful spines, relieving Echo instantly. Grateful, Echo showed his appreciation with energetic runs around them and affectionate kisses.
Determined to help, the sisters brought Echo back to their camp and asked around if anyone recognized him. With no luck, they decided to take him to a veterinarian the next day.
There, they discovered that Echo was microchipped, providing them with a way to contact his owner.
Hearing that Echo had been found was an emotional moment for his owner, who had feared the worst. Echo’s immediate recognition of his owner’s voice ignited a flurry of excitement. He dashed into his owner’s arms, tail wagging with joy.
For the sisters, witnessing Echo’s joyous reunion with his owner was incredibly rewarding. They were touched to have played a part in bringing the loving pet home safely.
