Magma was so affected by trauma that he showed no interest in food, his eyes reflecting his psychological distress. Rescuers rushed him to a veterinary clinic, where X-rays revealed a severe leg injury exacerbated by extreme malnutrition.
Initially, Magma resisted care; he wouldn’t eat, requiring the team to feed him with a syringe. Each mealtime was a struggle with his fear, but gradually, he began to eat on his own. As his physical health improved, his emotional wounds remained.
Magma stayed aloof, emotionally guarded, and avoided interaction as if hiding from the world. Even the softest touch startled him, his eyes filled with fear. He isolated himself from the other dogs, too traumatized to connect.
