In a dark sewer tunnel, a cat’s cries echoed for weeks before anyone found the heartbreaking reason behind them. The feral cat had been stuck in the same place for nearly a month, refusing to leave.
When rescuers finally reached the spot, they saw why—the body of another kitten lay nearby.

The cat, later named Norang, had remained by the side of its feline companion, who had passed away weeks earlier. Even then, Norang continued to nudge and curl up beside the lifeless body, as if waiting for it to wake.
It was a quiet act of loyalty and grief that moved the rescuers deeply.
When the rescue team tried to intervene, Norang resisted. Protective and confused, the cat made it difficult to get close.

Only after some time did it allow the rescuers to remove the kitten’s body, and Norang was gently brought to safety.
At the veterinary clinic, Norang was found to have bronchitis but was otherwise healthy.
The vet suggested that the other kitten may have died due to illness or poor conditions, common struggles for street animals with no consistent food or shelter.
What stood out most was Norang’s behavior. Despite hunger, illness, and isolation, the cat chose to stay beside its companion, showing clear signs of attachment and mourning.

It’s a powerful reminder that animals experience emotions, form bonds, and feel loss more deeply than many realize.
Now, Norang is safe and on the path to healing. The rescue team made a promise to give the grieving cat the home and care it deserves.
Though Norang’s friend is gone, a new chapter of love and comfort has begun—and with time, Norang may find peace in a world that didn’t forget him.
