Chico, a loyal and trusting dog, was thrown out of a car on a busy road in Signal Hill, California. Confused and heartbroken, he ran after his owner’s car for miles, hoping to be let back in. Despite his desperate attempts, the car sped away, leaving him frightened and alone amidst the heavy traffic.
A bystander witnessed the heart-wrenching moment and recorded a video of Chico’s pursuit. The video went viral on Instagram, sparking concern and sadness among viewers who worried about the abandoned pup’s fate.
Chico’s Heroes
As the video circulated online, it caught the attention of a kind-hearted woman named Destiny. Deeply moved by Chico’s plight, she decided to help him. Destiny headed to the area where he was last seen but couldn’t find him. Undeterred, she shared Chico’s story on her own Instagram account, hoping someone would provide more information.
Her persistence paid off when a Good Samaritan spotted Chico and shared his location. Since Destiny was at work, her boyfriend Kevin took on the task of finding the frightened pup. He drove around for about an hour until he finally spotted Chico. Overcome with fear and distrust, Chico barked at Kevin, unwilling to approach him.
Refusing to give up, Kevin spent hours feeding Chico and patiently trying to earn his trust. Eventually, the pup realized Kevin meant no harm and began to feel safe.
The Pooch Is Finally Safe
Relieved and overjoyed, Destiny joined Kevin and saw Chico sitting calmly by his side. The couple promised to never let the loyal pup experience abandonment again. That night, Chico stayed with a temporary foster and began to recover from his ordeal.
The couple reached out to Bella’s Animal Rescue, a foster-based organization in Southern California, for assistance. Bella’s Animal Rescue gladly took Chico in, ensuring he would be well cared for. He was placed with a loving foster mom named Brooklyn, who showered him with affection and provided a warm, nurturing environment.
Thanks to Brooklyn’s care, Chico started to heal emotionally, slowly forgetting the trauma of being abandoned. Although he enjoys life with his foster mom, Chico still dreams of finding a forever home where he will be cherished unconditionally.
With his gentle heart and enduring loyalty, it’s only a matter of time before Chico finds a loving family that he truly deserves.
